Apple and Intel?

Hmm took a long time to understand the context being a person who is averse to names, jargons . One of the problems with most of the news sites is that they do not organise the information properly. In the hard copies such as magazines and newspapers, they organise the information effectively. So its the editor or the author who puts in more efforts, whereas in the online articles, it's the user who puts in the efforts to assimilate info from n different sites, get the basic fundamental information and then synthesite it.. ( Hmm.. lets bash the media later )

Context:

Apple - earlier used - PowerPC for its Macintosh. - The manufacturing unit of erstwhile Motorola - FreeScale manufactures them.

Apple, IBM, Motorola created the AIM alliance - to develop PowerPCs. But as things went by, Apple had problems with IBM's delays in shipment... Motorola sold off its manufacturing unit - now known as FreeScale , IBM sold its unit to Lenovo. Now FreeScale that manufactures the PowerPC is more interested in developing the processors for gaming devices such as Xbox, PlayStation, Gameboy etc.. The roadmap of PowerPC does not sound promising.

On the other hand, Intel has proved to be efficient in improving efficiency, innovation, price etc..

Some of the questions I was wondering :
1.Good move by Apple, but the risks? - Havent had time to analyse, will do it soon.
2.Could AMD have been a competitive choice? What now of AMD?
3. What about the strategy of Apple? What is it going to do about its PC business on one hand and the web entertainment - ipods, itunes on the other hand.
